Baby Handkerchiefs – Do it yourself

My son’s baby handkerchiefs are handmade, his aunt made them. I didn’t think that they were gonna work that much. That is to say, they worked pretty well for many different purposes.

First of all, when my baby sweats or gets wet, I put it in his underwear if I didn’t have the opportunity to change his clothes. He was a savior for me. Even for that, these cloths are needed. Secondly, when he slept in the car, I covered his face with these handkerchiefs to protect from the sun. They didn’t stop my baby from breathing. The fabric of these handkerchiefs are muslin fabrics and muslin fabrics are perforated and air softed. Moreover, of course I used these for real purpose to wipe his mouth. I had a lot of baby handkerchiefs in different sizes. I used big ones as sweat clothes, while the smaller ones as baby feeding towels. You can buy these handkerchiefs from many websites. Also, you can make them easily.

The fabric is called muslin, a fabric at very affordable prices. Buy fabric, cut it to the appropriate size and make the edges fit, your handkerchiefs will be ready. Of course you can decorate them as you wish, your limit is your imagination. I’ll show you some examples of decorated. These are all crossstitched. So lovely, arent they.

To make crossstitch to muslin,

1. Attach waste canvas to fabric.
2. Embroid the cross stitch chart.
3. Unseam the waste canvas.
