Modal fabric is produced from beech wood. Its structure is cellulosic like viscose. Viscose, modal and lyocell fabrics are of the same category. It’s all “Rayon“. Rayon is known as “artificial silk”. While other rayon fabrics can be made of different wood fibers, the modal fabric is only made of beech.
